Bass Guitar for Dummies
Don't get too caught up in the name, the substance of the book is fantastic. The Author Patrick Pfeiffer does an exceptional job of informing, he is very thorough in his explanations.

Donnie McClurkin: Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs
One of the most diverse albums I have ever heard. It leaves you on the edge of your chair wondering what type of song will burst forth next. A must have for all bass players who play in today's gospel/worship setting.
